Well, damn... what can I say about this book? It was made of awesome!
I didn't enjoy the first book much, but this one was just super amazing!
Full of surprises and then some.
I totally fell in love with Lex, although I stayed there dreading that he would come out as one of the bad guys. And fortunately he didn't. He was hot and fascinating and awesome in many ways. Would have been a great choice for AJ if she didn't already have a soul mate.
And I'm all for that soul mate by the way. Although I thought many times that Ryan was a bit of a jerk, or at least acted like one, I loved him and AJ together. They have a bond like no others. They've always been destined to be together.
Clive gave me the creeps, though not as much as Mr Charles. AJ's dad was mostly being...well, the bad guy. Although in the end he finally sees the light and has regrets, asking forgiveness. And then I was kind of sorry for his end. But it was the right thing. Mr Charles instead, was just gross and creepy! And totally insane. And laughable.
The real bad guy though was really, really, really evil. I've always thought that Malia was bad news and acted strange and I suspected she must be evil, but didn't imagine how evil she could be. That was a big surprise. Among others.
I admit I really liked Ryan towards the end. When he started to trust AJ again and then studied how to defeat the evil guys, I thought "Aww, there's the guy we all love!"
I loved some of the scenes and one of them is when AJ an Ryan are in his car and touch at the same time one of the runes and... well, I can't tell you everything. I've already spoiled a lot of the fun.
Another scene is when they're fighting the final battle and he asks her to.... Oh well, I really can't tell you this. You'll have to read it. It was awesome by the way. Another amazing surprise.
I can't tell what I didn't like about this book, other than how Ryan acted for a first half of the book. But that was numbed by the hottness of Lex and AJ encounters. Mmmm... I can't tell you much about this either, sorry.

You jusy have to read this book!

I think it's mostly a 4.5 stars book. Did I say it was awesome? Because it was. Really!

This book is like The brady bunch meets teenage Vamps. A good read but targeted at young people. It does make you want to read the next book!
I loved it from the very beginning. it was really hard to stop reading it was very interesting through the entire story. I really recommend this story but you should read "bite me" first it will help you understand the story its was like actually seeing a movie in my head i loved this story, i hope the author would do a third book. Totally worth the money
This is book two of the series, and is one of my daughter's favorites. Unlike some books that like to leave themselves open for a sequel, this book could probably stand alone, and doesn't leave you feeling unfulfilled when you get to the end. A lot of action, some unexpected twists and a little romance *sigh* What a great read!
Love Sucks and so did this 2nd book..too cookie cut and kind of boring
After reading Bite Me I immediately ordered Love Sucks , received it yesterday and finished today...WOW.....All I can say is I want more....the story is addictive and you fall in love with the family of characters...I SOOOO hope Melissa Francis continues this series..I was shocked that these books not only grabbed my attenion but also my heart...EASY READING. I would recommend for all.
So glad to see a sequel to Love Bites! Melissa Francis brings a great closure to the first book all about this fun modern vampire and warlock family. The only thing missing is another edition after this! Can't wait to see what else she brings to the table with future books!
I loved Bite Me, it was great and I had to go on and buy Love Sucks so I could see how the story ended.

There are a lot of returning characters in this book as well as a few new faces...some friendly and some not. Lex was by far a favorite in this book! I would have loved to see a different outcome to the entire story, and it looked like it could have went that way, but close to the end of the book everything changes and a new ending is created...and I hated it.

Ok, so that may be a little too strong of a statement....and here comes the spoilers, so if you don't want to know then stop reading...

Everything was falling into place for Ryan to finally be moving on with another girl and AJ had finally found someone to make her forget about Ryan. Everything seemed to be working out great and could have easily continued on that course...but then the author had to throw in a curve ball and so now it ends up with the Mississippi cliche that has been described since chapter one of Bite Me! It was an incredible let down! I am not sure what she was thinking by ending the book with a stepbrother/stepsister intimate relationship! REALLY??? Huge let down for what could have been an amazing ending.

I loved Bite Me and would have highly recommend it, but the last 1/3 of Love Sucks almost ruined the entire series for me. While I loved (almost) all the characters, I didn't love them together. I'm disappointed.
